Philly pulling ahead in race for the 3rd pick?

I feel like I’m trying to keep track of a 29 horse race being run in a hurricane and fog (don’t Neil deGrasse Tyson me here.. I’m trying to set a scene). As we try to figure out where the Celtics cadre of picks may be disseminated, a number of teams seem to be vying for Danny Ainge’s attention. Once again… Philly seems to be the team…

Let me just say… If the Celtics can somehow flip 3 into Noel and Robert Covington and 16 + 23 into Middleton and Greg Monroe, the Celtics will have completely re-shaped their roster while still having money to spend on a max free agent.

How can that happen? Don’t ask me. I’m way too dizzy at this point to fully realize how ridiculous that scenario is. All I know is that’s a lot of names and a lot is going on.

#3 into Noel, I see happening (maybe even for less if Danny gets creative). Think the picks for Middleton and Monroe is going to be kaibashed by the Bucks unless we sweeten the pot somehow.

I would rather try and get Ibaka instead of Noel, I know he is older, on more money and has hit his prime but he can hit the 3 and space the floor, which is what you need with Monroe on the floor. Maybe 3rd pick to Bucks and 16 and 23 to thunder. I don’t know how the money would work though. Food for thought.

  If they try to go for Ibaka the Thunder would definitely want the third pick and somebody like Amir to make the money work.
  
  Then if they do pull off Middleton and Monroe for the 16th and 23rd picks along with filler it kills a lot of their cap space. As improved as the team would be with all those guys they still don’t have a clutch go-to-scorer to go along with IT unless Middleton really steps into that kind of role.
  
  I prefer Noel, he’s really establishing himself as an up and coming rim protector and a serviceable offensive game to boot. Plus he’s a hometown boy and idolizes KG. Either way let the chaos of draft day continue.

    Very fare points. I’m pretty sure all this bucks talk is a smoke screan for somthing else anyway.

3rd pick for Noel or Okafor, just walk away, even in a weak draft class that’s funny. You still have to develop either of those guys and you got rid of your main asset this year.

  however, i would probably bite on noel, covington & the 17 laker or philly 1st, unprotected for the 3, hunter and young.

    That’s intriguing but I doubt Philly will give anyone their first rounder. They know they’ll suck in the nearest future.

I love how yesterday the story was how worthless the #3 was…..then Teague gets traded for pick….12? Was it? And now look at today…everyone wants #3 and if Teague could go for that high, wtf could we get for 3?

  Gotta be something more than Noel or Okafor, if Ainge trade it for something like that, it’s wasted.

I think #16 & #23 for Middleton/Monroe is just wishful thinking on the part of someone with a poor record of prediction that has gone viral and gained faux credibility through repetition. The #3 for [insert Philly players’ names here] seems much more grounded in reality.

I don’t know if anyone can help but I’m follow the draft from the UK, I don’t have access to ESPN or NBA TV. What’s the best way to follow what’s going on other than bleacher report?
