Videos of the Day: Cobra & The Little Guy strike again

Another game, and another fight to the finish for Boston. Heading into the fourth, the Hawks were up 73-70, and Paul Millsap looked unstoppable. Enter Marcus Smart aka “Cobra”. Brad Stevens put the second year guard on Millsap in the fourth, and he did not regret the decision. As you’ll see in the vid below, Marcus put a halt to Millsap’s parade to the bucket, thus helping Boston hold off the Hawks in OT, 104-95.

Smart was also big on the offensive end, burying two huge treys late in the contest. TK has Cobra’s highlights as well as vid of “The Little Guy”. IT hit the dagger three in overtime to guarantee there will be more basketball played at TD Garden this year. And let’s hope the C’s can win these next 2 out of 3 so that we’ll be playing into May & maybe beyond….

are we really calling him the cobra? sounds too close to mamba

    I dont got anything better

    • MJ

Yesterday my new nickname for him was “The Experience” because no matter what he does, you remember the impact Marcus Smart makes on the basketball game.

      • Sean

That one would work for Evan Turner too lol

    • Mike C

I agree. No more cobra’s or mamba’s or any other reptile. How about ‘Lockdown’ for his tenacious defense. (Tenacious D) ? We could steal that one from Jack Black.

    • Pablo Kim

Hes been coined “Cobra” for a while now.

      • Sean

        didnt know that since when

        • John Granton

Actually, it was Scal (aka, the White Mamba) who came up with “Cobra”.

          • Sean

Then it can stand. Scal was always the human victory cigar to me

      • KWAPT

Scalabrine came up with the name near the beginning of the season during a game.

    • Edot

I vote hedgehog, or tazmanian devil! (see: hair)

      • Sean

        I hate the hair

        • Edot

lol he’s young he’ll outgrow that too. I’m sure what we were rocking at 22 may have only been slightly more palatable

  • DRJ

Brad opined that one reason Smart succeeded guarding Millsap was that Millsap was prob tired by that time. Another reason could be the refs: they’re ~less likely to call fouls when a small is guarding a big.

    • Sean

      either way good move.

      • KWAPT

        Yep.

  • Curt Hays

We goin’ to tha ship. And IT4 will be the Finals MVP.
