Wow … @WindhorstESPN just said that if Okafor slips to 3, the Celtics are ready to send a monster package to Philly to get him.

Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report says there’s growing momentum the Lakers are going to select D’Angelo Russell with the 2nd pick. It’s highly unlikely Philly – a team who’s spent the previous two lottery picks on big men – will select Jahlil Okafor at 3. So Sixers GM Sam Hinkie can sit back, field offers and see if any trump the player they’d select at 3.

So… what would you give up for a shot a Okafor? I’m guessing Marcus Smart, #16 and Brooklyn’s 1st in ~~2017~~ 2016 will be the starting point.

A source has confirmed to me if Okafor drops to the 3rd pick, Ainge will do anything and everything to get him from the 76ers. #NBADraft2015

Gotta be honest, I’m a fan of throwing Olynyk into any trade we may do. Pretty sure Danny doesn’t agree, though…

Big Marcus Smart fan – but I’d jump on that deal. I’m also good with including Olynyk in any deal

I’d rather see us lose Olynyk, Sullinger, or James Young than Marcus Smart or Jae Crowder. Crowder and Smart provided us some grit, and without grit we wouldn’t have gone very far in the second half of last season. Sullinger, Young and Olynyk would rather launch dreams and hopes from the 3pt line than pound it inside when the game is not coming to them.

  The problem is, that Smart is the absolute best trading chip we have, and no one is going to give us a top 5 pick without him. That Nerlens Noel and #3 pick sounded good to me, and we didn’t offer them enough yesterday. Interested to see how it pans out either way though. Smart IS good, don’t get me wrong, but he’s not “untouchable good”. If Sully stays off the 3pt line (which has been pushed by Stevens actually, not his decision), I’d still rather see him back next year than Kelly or Young…

I’d rather the C’s just keep the picks then trade Smart or Crowder without bringing a real star back (which I don’t really think Okafur is at least not yet I guess this is assuming LA is gonna make the Cousins trade, but either way wouldn’t LA or SAC have to pick Okafur at 2? I don’t think he’ll even slip to 3. That being said, Danny trades always look bad at first but I’ve learned that over time they’re pretty one-sided.

I hope we dont sell the farm for Okafor. And I honestly dont think Ainge will do this deal. I think hes setting himself up for another move down the road, Just my 2 cents. I juist dont see Okafor skills being that important on this team. He reminds me a lot of Sulli at OSU. more talented for sure, but still a slow, plodding, on the block big guy. Not exactly a perfect fit for todays NBA.

Okafor reminds me of a bigger, less injured Sully. Not someone I would draft with the 3rd pick, and definitely not trade up to get a 3rd pick for. At this point, the rumors are all over the map, though. I’m interested to see what ends up happening.
