Enemy Chatter: Where Sheed deserves a bonus

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Detroit.

Though wasn’t that close to the action, I could still here the emphatic Rasheed Wallace scream “Ball Don’t Lie” from my seat at the Palace.

What do you know, Sheed actually was in the paint for Boston.  Think he’s getting a bonus for that?

You gotta love Natalie - the Pistons fanatic behind Need for Sheed. She's one of the more creative bloggers out there.

There were tiny victories in the game. There was a stretch where rookie Austin Kaye schooled veteran Ricky Pierce, scoring nine first-half points. Jonas Jerebko (16 points, 10 rebounds) played a solid game against Kevin Garnett.

Ricky Pierce? I realize Pau'ls game has slipped a bit this year... I hate to say it, but there were times last night Paul played like Ricky.

On Page 2, Nate Robinson vs Ben Gordon.

I'm not crazy enough to believe Robinson is a better basketball player than Gordon, but it's difficult to watch Robinson do the things Gordon is being paid handsomely to do for the Pistons. 

Robinson knocked down 4-of-5 three-point shots, including three bombs in the fourth quarter.  On all three of those attempts Robinson was being defended by Gordon, which probably played a key role in why he was removed from the game. 

As I mentioned earlier, Gordon was given some extra playing time, but he didn't do much with it. He finished with eight points on 2-8 shooting, missed all three of his three-point shots and turned the ball over four times. All while playing his typically subpar defense.  

Again, I'll never say Robinson is better than Gordon, but I'd take Robinson at $4 million over Gordon's $10-million contract in a heartbeat.
