I think you need to try to sell him on Cs, show him what his rule would be on this team (work for Brad) and meet his contracts requirements (give him the kind of deal he’s looking for – my guess is 2yr max maybe with player option in second year).

If you get a veteran intimidator like Gibson it speaks volumes about your dedication to winning and not playing ‘soft’ basketball. It could lure a guy like Tobias Harris. You can also give up a little more than you might like for another young big (say, Mass native Nerlens Noel) b/c you have a stable presence there on a two year veteran contract, not a questionable attitude/physique guy like Sully who will be a RFA next year. I’d sign Harris to a max offer sheet. If Orlando threatens to match (I don’t think they will) but is open to a sign and trade then my offer would be Wallace, Sully and whatever pick we didn’t give up for Taj (our own lotto protected one or the Minny protected one that becomes two 2nd rounders). Wallace’s big contract wouldn’t be a problem in way under the cap Orlando, he’d be a good locker room voice for kids like Gordon and Harkless, then sent to a contender at the deadline. The Magic can evaluate both Sully and Andrew Nicholson as young soon to be RFA’s and decide who they want to keep, or maybe trade Frye and keep both. If we had to S&T for Harris I would then sign Biyombo to a moderate contract, the kind given to elite defenders only playing half the game (at most), something like what Avery Bradley got. If we don’t have to use Sully/picks in a S&T for Harris I would offer a trade of Smart, Sully and two 1st rd picks (protected top 7 at the most) for Nerlens Noel. Another move that makes sense for both teams.
