Your Morning Dump… Where Steph Curry falling on his head nearly ruined my summer

Chuck - Red's Army May 26, 2015 Around the NBA, Paul Pierce 48 Comments

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big story line. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

NBA MVP Stephen Curry missed the equivalent of a quarter after taking a hard fall on his head, neck and back area near the basket in the second quarter of Monday night’s 128-115 loss to the Rockets.

The Warriors said that after a series of tests, it was determined Curry had no concussion symptoms; he did not undergo any X-rays. He returned and finished with 23 points in 31 minutes.

“I feel pretty good,” Curry said. “Just not how I envisioned the game going.”

Curry said the fall wasn’t the worst of his career but called it the scariest.

“I was in the air for a long time — just trying to brace yourself,” said Curry, who according to the Warriors sustained a head contusion on the play.

Asked whether he would go out of his way to avoid seeing replays of the fall, Curry said he’d seen it, “and once was enough.”

ESPN

THANK GOD.

Don’t you dare get injured on us Steph Curry. You’re the only one who can stop that insufferable, egomaniacal LeBron James.

Imagine if LeBron hit the court like Curry. You just know he’d come out for the next game in a neck brace.

On Page 2, talk Paul Pierce might finish up with the Clippers.

Washington’s main issue is complacency. The Wizards could stand pat if Pierce decides to return to D.C. next season rather than opt out of his deal, but many around the league believe Pierce will do just that and finish his career back home in Los Angeles with the Clippers.

David Aldridge – NBA.com

Three teams in 3 years for Paul Pierce?

I’d love to see him stick with the up-and-coming Wizards, but playing for Doc Rivers and the Clippers makes too much sense.

If Paul heads west, I’d have to root for the Clippers. My love for the Truth supersedes my disdain for Doc.

And finally…

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the inconspicuous Joey Crawford.

That was absolutely brutal. My worst nightmare was that something like this could go down in a wild closeout game. What do people think about Howard’s elbow? With the way the NBA calls things, why even have rules?!

  • Dmitry

My concern is that Cavs would finish Curry off in Wadish style, as this is clearly a way to beat the Warriors and el’bron would get another ring, I must me wrong!

  • dk

Another cake walk to the finals for the Lebrons. As usual, they get the path of least resistance. S&*t, even in 2012 against us they lucked out, considering we literally had no bench, and it still went 7 games…Can’t stand this. Where are all the Cavs fans who claimed KO was such a “dirty player” in response to Delly’s BS now????

  • forever_green

It made sense for Paul to go there last year but he didn’t. I really don’t want to see Paul in a Clipper uniform & I don’t think Paul wants to either. Time to come back to his true home Boston.

    • RedsLoveChild

Please, no Clippers….I don`t want to be rooting against Paul Pierce.

      • forever_green

I don’t want you to be either.

  • forever_green

The league will be a better place when Joey finally breaks a hip.

    • GreenBirdCro

      Ugly but true

    • Richard Jensen

How many times does he have to fall down during a game?

We all know what’s going to happen. He’s going to drop dead on the court. He’s going to retire when he dies in the middle of a nationally televised game because the NBA is too spineless/stupid to put him out to pasture.

      • forever_green

He’s always trying to steal the show isn’t he? Lol

The only league where ref retirement age is 100, I never thought Bavetta would call it quits.

  • RedsLoveChild

What LBJ is doing this spring is unreal.
    No K-Love….No Kyrie….No Varejao = NO PROBLEM

It`s like you can put him on any EC team, and he`ll get them to the Finals.
Five straight trips to the Finals…last done by Bill Russell in 1966.

Hate him all you want {I couldn`t care less who wins between CLE-GS}, but James is making a very powerful case as the “Non-center GOAT”.

    • forever_green

Com’mon you and I both know how weak the East is and how there isn’t enough talent to cover the amount of teams there are. Shit the Celtics made the playoffs in a rebuilding year. LeBron is the best in today’s game(cough) and he’s playing at his best but he ain’t no goat.

      • GoKingsGoCeltsGoTigersGoNiners

The bulls were one stop away from choking them out, but Thibs decided to give LBJ a free jumper, just like Pops did for Ray Allen.

    • Curt Hays

I’m with you. Just watch the man play. He IS unreal. Certainly the greatest player in the world. I prefer Cleveland to beat GSW, honestly. Playing like that, LBJ deserves it.

    • KGino

You can’t be the GOAT when you fake injuries, shed light on your own little nagging injuries to the media, and carry yourself the way he does.

      • GoKingsGoCeltsGoTigersGoNiners

Exactly. The dude’s a complainer. He’s got a bunch of guys taking people out at the knees and clocking them in the face. All this is just to make it to .500 in the finals. He bailed on his home town, guaranteed 8 titles and then whimpered back to Cleveland a few years later once wade reached his expiration. I don’t find that inspiring at all.

      • Curt Hays

I don’t recall him being wheeled off the court only to return later in the game…

        • RedsLoveChild

LBJ has played 12 years….he has played in 95% of his team`s games during those 12 years, while averaging over 39 minutes per game.

Where the hell are all these injuries {fake or real} that he`s now being accused of having???

          • KGino

“You could play doctor right now, how many injuries I got right now. But at that point, I feel like its mind over matter… And I was able to push through.” — Lebron James after Game 3 vs Hawks.

So where the hell are all these injuries?? That’s exactly my point. Only bron bron could tell you, and only bron bron WILL tell you

          • RedsLoveChild

            You`re really “reaching”.
This is the best you`ve got? That`s it? Nothing more?

When the media asks, LBJ admits he`s “banged-up”…..You`re gonna “kill” him for merely acknowledging the exact same thing all NBA players acknowledge, especially at this time of year?

Jordan scores 38 in a Game 5 win during the `97 Finals…”claims” he had the flu…he thought he would “die”….leans all over Pippen as he leaves the floor.
Public response : MJ is the ultimate hero!

          • KGino

Lol Lebron says these things UNPROMPTED. You know that’s not it. I could speak on this for days. I can speak on PP for a few separate occasions. And quite honestly, if you can’t see it for yourself, you’re either blind or not watching closely. But rather than tell you and waste my time, here’s a link (it may be biased, but just watch the videos): http://www.barstoolsports.com/boston/last-nights-theatrics-summed-up-why-everybody-should-hate-bron-bron/

          • RedsLoveChild

So, PP`s humiliating, cringe-worthy press conference was nothing compared to LBJ pointing out that he`s banged-up, which should be obvious to anyone after nearly 100 games?!?

This winter, when I applauded Ainge for finally unloading that POS named Rondo, you stated , “Just wait and see what Rondo does in the playoffs”. Ok, I`m still waiting.

            Why don`t just be honest?

Why not just admit that you were born without any capacity to be objective?
That you will always sacrifice credibility in exchange for making ultra pro-Celtic comments.
That you will always attack certain non-Celtics at every opportunity, justified or not.

Even Curt Hayes {the #1 upbeat Celtic fan who never challenges anyone`s comments}, now seems to be getting tired of your act. Even he`s challenging you out on your ramblings!

          • KGino

The worst thing about your comments in the ridiculous twist you put on my words to pretend I said something I didn’t. I.E. your first paragraph. The point is Pierce had a few isolated incidents, Lebron does this sh** ALL THE TIME. Flops, fakes hurt, overly dramatic, ego maniac, belittles his team/coach, etc. At least Paul Pierce finally grew up to be a man.

I was all for the Rondo trade, if you remember correctly. I would never have paid him what he was gonna want. I still stand behind my comments that Rondo is a playoff beast. He didn’t even get a chance this year.

Born without the capacity to be objective? LOL! You were born without the capacity to read comments closely, and formulate responses that actually counter some else’s points. That’s why I just said how much I respect Kobe now right? Must be that ultra pro Celtic in me. Simply put, I don’t like little F****ing babies out on the basketball court. Especially when you have that sort of talent and could play the game so much more respectably (i.e. Game 6 vs. Celtics… Lebron was NO BS. He killed us. He was on a mission. Best game I’ve ever seen him play).

Oh NO! Lebron has played 100 games… No one else in the league has done that EVER!! Lebron is such a hero for playing so hurt and so many games at this level! You keep feeding off that Lebron bal- licking parade Love child. I just saw Klay Thompson bleeding blood out of his ear and not making it as big of a deal as some of Lebrons “injuries”.

Curt Hayes loves me. My first comment just wasn’t very specific is all, left the door open for that kind of comment. I easily specified in the next comment and Curt agreed. Again, work on those reading skills.

          • RedsLoveChild

OMG….what a human train wreck! Again, nothing but extreme sympathy for those who are in your daily life.

If it enables you to get through your day/night, then keep doing what you do.
Continue your diabolical/juvenile attacks on LBJ or other non-Celts…continue your policy of never speaking ill of a Celtic…continue your sleazy “gaslighting” tactics…continue to angrily “move the goal posts” whenever you`re called out for being wrong, etc.

But, just do NOT come here for love & approval, which is your real goal. That`s just too sad.

            Only you would pathetically change their post name to “Guest”…when you fear “KGino” was not getting enough upticks! {You thought that went unnoticed}

No, Curt H. does NOT “love” you. He`s never even met you.

          • KGino

Actually no, you illiterate moron, I did not post as a “guest” just for upticks. Check again. Yeah, I’m arguing with you on a 5 day old post for upticks, SMH.

You are the biggest loser on this site. Incapable of formulating legitimate responses to my factual statements, like a child really. Your name is so fitting. You would lose to me in a debate 10/10 times for your inability to stay on topic.

If anyone lives a sad life, it’s your pessimistic a**. I feel truly sorry for your life. I know how my life is… Hot asian girl friend, awesome job, plenty of friends. Being optimistic has its perks. Being a pessimistic adult child must suck!

Btw, not that I care about “upticks” as much as you apparently… But i did just check the top commenters on the site. And on average, I have the most upticks per comment. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, it was a validating piece of information.

          • RedsLoveChild

Thanks for proving all my points, Shit-Head!

You just ADMITTED it all :

–You do pathetically show up here for the love & approval that is so lacking in your real life.
–You do equate stupid-ass “upticks” with love & approval.
–Only you {and you alone!} would actually keep score of “upticks per comment”. Who ever knew {let alone care} such a thing even existed?!?
–You use the “Guest” option so the “K-Psycho” post name can maintain a higher average.

Is there some awesome reward awaiting the “uptick winner”? John or Chuck will present you with $50M check, perhaps?

Finally, the only time I {or anyone} would lose to you would be in a contest to determine who is the world`s biggest idiot/loser!

          • KGino

Lol you brought up upticks you moron, not me. I was just doing you a favor since you seem to care so much! Thanks for once again proving you’re incapable of carrying on a legitimate debate! You certainly are a CHILD!!

          • RedsLoveChild

            K-InsecureNeedyDweeb,

Forgot to ask earlier but….exactly how many upticks must the KGino moniker tally before you decide NOT to switch to “Guest”?

I`m guessing 3 or 4…which is probably half the number of anxiety, anti-depressant meds you take daily!
            LOL!!!

          • KGino

Reds-I-Can’t-Seem-To-Read-Child… No where in this thread did I ever switch to guest. Your entire argument and attempt to make fun of me kind of fail when your original claim is baseless. But I wouldn’t expect a moron like you to understand that concept.

          • RedsLoveChild

            Buffoon Boy,

Did I ever say you switched to “Guest” on THIS thread?

I`ve definitely seen you do it in the past! Certainly well within the past 6 months.
I`d be reading one of your fanboy comments—-such as “Rondo is a playoff monster”—posted under KGino.
An hour later, that same comment appears, only this time under “Guest”!

Besides, Moron, earlier on this very thread you admitted doing so! Look above, where you write, “I did not post as “guest” JUST for upticks”.

You admit posting under “guest”. You do not offer any other reason why you use “guest”, but you quickly point out how proud you are of all your upticks, and some shit about how KGino has the highest number of votes per post., as if anyone but you would even count or give a crap!

Still, nice desperate/shameless attempt trying to do what you always do…alter the true facts, misquote others, and being an all around scummy weasel!

          • KGino

Wait wait wait… So you’re telling me you’re calling me out for something that happened last year on this thread? That’s how stupid your mind is… What did that have to do with ANYTHING??? Besides dodging the topic, which was Lebron…

I can promise on the Celtics winning another championship I’ve never intentionally changed my name to “guest” just because I wasn’t getting what you call upticks. (Again, moron, say it with me… “up votes…”)

I beat you in a debate every time. and you’re delirious if you don’t think so. Any regular to this site over the past 2 years would agree with me. Sorry you don’t get any support, and feel the need to bash on people who are positive about their team (i.e. Me, Curt, etc.) because you are such a pessimistic bi*ch who thinks he knows it all.

Sorry you don’t get comments like, “I come here just to watch KGino sh** on Reds Love Child”, I know it must deeply hurt your feelings to hear things like that. So much so that you hold on to something like me changing my name to guest for 6 months like a chick would, only to spring it out randomly when your losing yet another argument to me because you couldn’t rebuttal my comments if you tried.

News flash: you’re the only one obsessing about my “upticks”, and honestly, that’s what’s psycho to me…

Keep attacking me personally, the difference is I know for a FACT I wouldn’t change my life for yours in a MILLION years. I’m way better than you at life, I would bet my life on it.

          • RedsLoveChild

Is your ass aware of all the shit that comes out of your mouth…or just some of the shit?

        • KGino

Paul Pierce letting the air out of the building only to return and have them erupt (I was there, remember), was GENIUS. Yes I can see how it’s similar, but like it or not, him doing that gave us a ton of momentum. Lebron just does it for the attention, or when things don’t go his way.

Reds Love Child, do you even watch Lebron games? He literally makes up injuries and then brags about playing thru them like he’s extra tough. Go re-watch the hawks series and post game interviews

          • Curt Hays

Either way, Pierce didn’t make a habit out of it, so they’re not the same. Also, LeBron didn’t get stabbed and play every game the next season.

I think half of LeBron’s problem is that the announcers bite on everything he does or says, so everything about him is sensationalized.

    • Mike C

You mean most Overrated of all time don’t you? If you put a great NFL athlete like Bo Jackson or Herschel Walker into the modern era NBA, you’d get basically the exact same player as Lebron. Lower your shoulder & go down and run into the defense player with his feet set, and we’ll make sure you get a free trip to the free throw line. EVERY SINGLE PLAY! That’s all he does! GOAT, give me a break, Not even close!

      • bill_nair

You significantly downplays Lebron’s skills. Shouldnt expect nothing less on a Cs broad though.

        • Mike C

Yes or No, does he lower his shoulder and plow into defensive players? Is that basketball? Looks more like something you’d see from an NFL running back in my opinion. Magic & Bird were far superior basketball players!

        • Curt Hays

Comments like that are how you can identify someone who doesn’t actually watch LBJ play. His jumpshot is just killer, and that’s obviously being ignored.

    • bill_nair

Ya the “This is a cakewalk for the Cavs” comments have been so off base its not even funny.

Bron has been busting his ass just to relive the 2007 finals again. Not a single thing about this playoffs has been easy for him. No Love, No Kyrie, his best player is Tristan Thompson and hes still going back to the Finals. Its nothing short of amazing how hes played, let alone carrying the team to the promise land. After all the talk of Lebron cant do this without All-stars, hes 5 games away from carrying a single star team to a chip.

Don’t expect many Cs fans to tell you this though.

      • RedsLoveChild

“Objectivity” is NOT even on the list of things I would ever expect to hear from a Celtic fan on this blog.

Bill, you are a very rare exception.

        • Rod Shaftwell

Lebron is an incredible player. If he wasn’t such a douche, I would root for him whenever he wasn’t playing the C’s.

But you can’t deny that the NBA increases his effectiveness massively through shady officiating. There is legitimate surprise when a foul is called on the King, and he cries constantly when other calls don’t go his way. He’s so used to getting his way he’s come to expect/rely on it.

He is one of the best players ever, he doesn’t need the Refs to hold his hand and take him to the promise land.

If you took an average, decently good player, like Avery Bradley, and gave him the Lebron treatment he would be an all star impact player too. Not on the same level of course but the point still stands.

          • Mike C

            Exactly Right, well said !

      • forever_green

The single thing that has been easy for him this playoffs are the opponents. Is he playing great? Sure but his competition is low.

I dare you to put on a James jersey and not burst in flames (it can’t be done).

    • Thatguy

I’m really impressed by what he’s doing, and I honestly don’t like the guy. Everyone has been suffering injuries these playoffs, but missing two rebounders (Both of which have averaged above 13 boards in previous seasons) and an all-star point guard for a decent chunk of the playoffs, he’s not as efficient as he used to be but still… Is he really human?

( On a side note… K. Love out has actually made the defense… Better?)

  • zippittyay

I can’t wait for the LBJ era of the NBA to finally come to an end. Not sure who I would root against when that happens. His combination of ego, arrogance, HGH and raw basketball talent could be a once in a lifetime event.

    • GoKingsGoCeltsGoTigersGoNiners

I can’t wait either, however the NBA will still be the NBA and they will find someone to shower favoritism towards.
