Un-brace yourself, JaVale McGee is not coming to Boston

This is beyond confusing to me because Philadelphia is on the hook for $12 million no matter what. What does it matter whose option it is? If McGee doesn’t want to be in Boston next year, they can just cut him. No harm, no foul.

I guess in the end, this was a very JaVale experience. The dude can’t even figure out how to be a free agent.

Maybe the situation will flip flop again in an hour. lol

With John’s headline, I can’t help but think of Full Metal Jacket. “You best un[brace] yourself or I will unscrew your head and [ish] down your NECK!”

Maybe someone will be like “Dood…you have guaranteed money already…”

and JaVale will call Danny back all “Hey man, my bad. I forgot ’bout the thing wit Philly. They payin’ me anyway.” And then Danny says, “You’re right. We’re paying you the minimum though.” And then JaVale signs.

I think it’s more that the player option would’ve given him total control and let him jump ship next season if he didn’t like how things were going regardless of the Celtics’ opinion of him. Not so much about how much he’s actually making. Celts wanted team option to lock him in if he was good, or cut him if he sucked. He’s already got the money, now he wants the power and respect, for your Tony Montana fans… :-P Smart move by the front office, cuz a player option ties their hands even if he gets hurt again (which he admittedly has a history of), just plain sucks, etc. I’m disappointed, obviously by my posts this morning, but I understand. He wanted too much for a rebuilding team to offer. Some contender will pick him up, I’m sure.

He’d be well-suited for the Rockets with Howard as a bunk mate. Another oft injured joke, but at least Howard can play the game…

After seeing goobers like Wright, Turner, and Austin Rivers come to the C’s this season I couldn’t take another one.

    And more disappointing news… lmao

Avery Bradley (left elbow strain) is not on the Celtics' flight to New Orleans this afternoon, He is out tomorrow night at least.— Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) March 5, 2015

Great…AB is out and Marcus Smart is spending his 21st bday in New Orleans…

    Best move Danny ever made.

I would have liked to see if he could have figured it out in the NBA.
I’m kind of glad Bradley is out. I know what he can do and more importantly what he can’t do. I’m tired of watching him do things he can’t.

What team is going to give this guy a player option? He’s played 28
games in two years and sucked in all of them. This guy’s expectations
for himself checked out 4 years ago when he became an NBA bust. Could
have had an opportunity to make himself look appealing and could have
left after the remainder of this season to sign somewhere even if he didn’t like it here. NOW, when
zero teams are willing to sign him with a player option where does he
showcase himself? Made himself look pretty ridiculous acting like he was
some very valuable asset to a team that is barely on the cusp of a
playoff birth that will likely end in 4-5 games if they get in. Turd.

Please tell JaVale this so that we can sign him.

        someone probably has.

  • adam

    Oh no
I mean that in the best way.
