Highlights: Sully, Crowder lead C’s over Pelicans

The Celtics got big games from Jared Sullinger & newcomer Jae Crowder last night. Crowder had a career-high 22 points and Sullinger put in 27 of his own to go with 10 boards. The two were also a combined 10 of 11 from the FT line.

Crowder’s night consisted of a bit of everything-drives to the hoop, jumpers & a couple of tough treys. He also notched 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks & 4 steals. With Jeff Green now in Memphis, Crowder is guaranteed to see more minutes at the 3 going forward.

Sullinger was a beast during his 32 minutes out on the floor. He shot 52% and hit some crucial free-throws in the final minute to seal Boston’s 108-100 win.

I like the lineups that are getting used now…more defensively minded. With Smart and Crowder the defense has def gotten a nice boost.

Youngin’ James Young def needs to work on and improve his defense…almost broke his ankle last night. And it seems like he doesnt move around a lot to get a shot…kids got a nice stroke though, so I am sure he will keep improving.

  Definitely what i wanted C’s to try but wasnt possible with Green in the line up. Green is a good one on one defender but he isnt physical and active enough to take the opponents out of position, frustrate or disrupt plays.
  
  Smart just needs to figure out what he can do and not do at point. He got talent and potential.
