We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Portland.

Appropriate to the season, Rajon Rondo made mincemeat out of Damian Lillar in the first. He squirted past Portland’s defense repeatedly.

The Celtics continued to foil Lillar and his mates with screens for open jumpers as the third period commenced, but the Blazers were able to respond with Aldridge scoring inside.

Damian Lillar(d) shot 4-14 for 12 points but added 9 rebounds of his own. He yin-yanged his assists and turnovers with 5 each. I assume we don’t have to comment on the other end of the floor much?

Turns out Rajon Rondo isn’t the only point guard in the league criticized for his lack of defense.

As an homage to Damian Lillard’s defensive failures, this Blazers blogger leaves the final ‘d’ off his name.

Ouch.

Amazes me that Rondo still gets guys to bite on the behind-the-back fake.

I hope Rondo finishes the season averaging close to a triple double.

  Me too and to be honest no matter what he does there will always be people nickpicking at his flaws. Stuff like how he’s bad with the media and how he should score more and such, almost gets as much hate as LBJ. Personally I love the kind of player that he is, doesn’t believe in the whole buddy buddy system, plays hard no matter what, doesn’t complain, and best of all he has a pass-first mentality.
  
  He plays the point guard position the way it’s supposed to be played. As much as I like players like Curry and Lowry, they’re still more of scoring guards than pure traditional point guards. I just hope we can keep him and be able to add more quality pieced around him this upcoming offseason.

    If Rondo was on another team Celtics fans would be ripping Danny for passing on him in the draft. Celtics fans just like to complain. Give it 2 or 3 years and Smart will be hated and whoever we draft this year. Celtics/New England sports team fans are just weird.

      Just most expect too much in general, especially when Danny set the bar pretty damn high with his magical offseason 7 years ago which we’ll forever be grateful for.

        Ya no matter what Danny does I dont think it will ever be good enough for some fans. He really may have set the bar too high for himself (I fully expect him to get us back into contention).

        Same but I don’t think that would be for another year or two, all depends on what he does this offseason since that will ultimately shape the path the Celtics are going to take.

        AB has been underwhelming at best…14 pt average and barely even a steal per game. He can do so much more.

        He seems like he still having an identity crisis where he doesn’t know which side of the ball he should focus on. He was at his best in 2012 when he just focused on defense and let the offense come to him. He’s best playing within the offense and not creating for himself every trip down.

        Still doesn’t make what I said in reference to the comment by @disqus_PxbpHGIskj:disqus any less true. As soon as AB succeeds on another team, everyone will be ripping Danny.

        Im pretty sure 90% of the fan base loved him in 2012, so ya pretty similar.
