LeBron James caught an elbow to the throat during last night’s game against the Bobcats. Amazingly, Josh McRoberts was not hit with a Flagrant 2 for his actions.

I’ve never been elbowed in the throat, but there’s something about LeBron’s reaction that lacks authenticity. He looks like a professional wrestler feigning an injury after taking a steel chair in the chops.

Maybe some day Lebron will take a hit like a man, or in this case, like a Legend:

The on-court acting is paying off for LBJ. He just signed a deal with a Hollywood talent agency. So there’s that.

i’m always amazed at how “hurt” he seems for a guy who’s 6’9 280 and plays like a bull in a china shop–incredible the slightest contact crumbles in a heap. I saw them zooming in on a cut on his finger and actually talking about it. I told my wife watch if they lose they’ll all be talking about this effing cut.

Now, since I had the ‘pleasure’ of receiving countless elbows (& many different niceties) including in the throat, I believe I can talk about this subject with certain authority. Those who were lucky enough to be speared from such experiences should give a call to Josh and ask him for that ‘favour’… In most cases elbows thrown in my direction came from 240-250 lbs guys…
I’m in no way LBJ fanboy nor his hater. And I don’t see what’s wrong with his reaction. Other than that he managed to get relatively ok out of it.
Hats down to my favourite C of all times. God knows I responded in similar way on several occasions. However, I have never condoned violence. Anywhere. At the same time it’s appalling that Joshs’ get away with such dirty plays. In many cases flagrant 2 just ain’t enough. Criminal liability comes to mind as more appropriate or added response.
Let’s rather discuss Cs related stories. Or, if really necessary, game altering flops.
Can’t wait for that lottery…

  Lebron handled it better than anyone commenting on this board would if they got elbowed in the throat. Ive been elbowed in the throat on similar plays and I could barely shoot my free throws. Bron just shook it off.

  I agree that an elbow to the throat is going to take down most people and that LBJ probably handled it okay. However, the point isn’t lost on me that Larry Bird simply didn’t put up with that flagrant crap. If Lebron TRIED as hard as Larry, he’d have 6 rings in a row by now. I see that you love Larry the same as most of us, but I think maybe the difference is that I WANT to see LBJ work as hard as Larry because that’s why we turn on the TV for these games. Lebron simply isn’t inspiring. I think Chuck’s whole point was to point that out.

I dont think anything was unauthentic about Lebrons reaction. Hes a strong guy who can take those hits better than any normal human being you’ve probably encountered. Ive been elbowed in the throat, I wish I couldve had the same “unauthentic” reaction Bron did. I wouldve been able to come back in to the game.
